Design Settings in the Creator
The Design Settings panel (right side of the Creator) gives you control over your sticker's physical properties. These settings affect how your sticker is cut, sized, and printed.
Accessing Design Settings
The Design Settings panel is always visible on the right side of the Creator (desktop) or accessible via the bottom panel (mobile).
When no specific element is selected, you see the default sticker settings. When you select text, images, or QR codes, you see settings specific to that element.
Corner Radius (Square Shape Only)
When using the square/rectangle shape, this slider controls how rounded the corners are.
Values
- 0% — Sharp 90-degree corners
- 25% — Slightly rounded
- 50% — Medium rounded (default, most popular)
- 75% — Very rounded
- 100% — Fully rounded (pill shape if rectangular, circle if square)
Tips
- Sharp corners can catch and peel more easily
- Rounded corners are generally more durable
- Match the corner style to your design aesthetic
Outline
The outline is the border around your sticker—the white edge that surrounds your design. This setting controls its thickness.
What the Outline Does
- Creates the visible border around your sticker
- Provides a "safe zone" between your design and the cut edge
- Makes stickers easier to peel and apply
- Adds visual definition to your sticker
Adjusting Outline
Use the slider to increase or decrease thickness:
- Lower values (10-20%) — Thin, subtle border
- Medium values (30-50%) — Standard, visible border (recommended)
- Higher values (60-100%) — Thick, prominent border
Recommendations
- For detailed designs: Medium outline provides safety margin
- For minimalist designs: Thinner outline looks cleaner
- For die-cut photos: Medium-thick outline helps the sticker "pop"
- For small stickers: Don't go too thin—it may be hard to see
Outline Smoothness (Die-Cut Only)
This setting only appears when using die-cut mode. It controls how closely the auto-generated outline follows your design.
How It Works
The Creator traces around your content to create the die-cut shape. Smoothness determines how detailed that trace is.
Values
- Lower (0-25%) — Detailed tracing, follows every curve and bump
- Medium (25-50%) — Balanced smoothness, captures shape without noise
- Higher (50-100%) — Simplified outline, ignores small details
When to Use Each
Low smoothness:
- Simple shapes with clean edges
- Logos with intentional details
- When you want the cut to follow exact contours
Medium smoothness:
- Most photos and illustrations
- Designs with moderate detail
- General-purpose setting
High smoothness:
- Complex images with lots of small details
- Photos with hair or fur (high detail would create jagged edges)
- When you want a cleaner, simpler outline
Tips
- Preview the outline as you adjust
- Too detailed can look jagged
- Too smooth might lose important shape details
- There's no "right" answer—adjust until it looks good to you
Outline Color
The color of your sticker's border. This is the edge that surrounds your design.
Default
White (#FFFFFF) — Works with almost everything and is the industry standard.
Changing the Color
- Click the color swatch
- Use the color picker, or
- Enter a hex code directly
Creative Uses
- Match your design — Use a color from your artwork for a seamless look
- Contrast — Use a color that stands out for emphasis
- Brand colors — Match your brand guidelines
- Black outline — Creates bold definition (popular for illustrated stickers)
Considerations
- Non-white outlines show more if there's slight cutting variation
- White outlines are most forgiving
- Clear/transparent outlines aren't available (outlines are always solid)
Sticker Color
The background fill color inside your sticker shape. This is what shows in transparent areas of your design.
When It Matters
- Images with transparency — The sticker color shows through
- Text stickers — Becomes the background behind text
- Shapes without uploaded images — The entire sticker is this color
When It Doesn't Matter
- Die-cut stickers with solid images — The image covers the background
- Full-coverage designs — If your design fills the entire shape
Default
A light cream/off-white (#FFF7E9)
Changing the Color
- Click the color swatch
- Use the color picker, or
- Enter a hex code
Tips
- Choose colors that complement your design
- Consider contrast with text or image elements
- White is safe for most designs
- Bold colors can make simple designs pop
Size (Inches)
Control the physical dimensions of your printed sticker.
Width & Height
- W — Width in inches
- H — Height in inches
Enter values directly or use the controls to adjust.
Lock Aspect Ratio
Click the lock icon between W and H:
- Locked — Changing one dimension proportionally changes the other
- Unlocked — Dimensions change independently (may distort your design)
Generally, keep this locked to maintain your design proportions.
Size Limits
- Minimum: 0.5" on shortest side
- Maximum: 8" on longest side
Size Recommendations
| Use Case | Recommended Size |
|---|---|
| Laptop stickers | 3" - 5" |
| Water bottle | 2.5" - 3" |
| Phone case | 1.5" - 2" |
| Notebook/planner | 2" - 3" |
| Bumper sticker | 3" × 10" (varies) |
| Wall decal | 6" + |
How Size Affects Price
Larger stickers cost more. The pricing updates based on your dimensions.
Aspect Ratio
Your sticker's aspect ratio depends on:
- Basic shapes: Determined by the shape (circles are 1:1)
- Custom shapes: Set by the shape's natural proportions
- Die-cut: Determined by your content's dimensions
