Will stickers leave residue when removed?
Sometimes. It depends mostly on how long the sticker has been on and how much sun and heat it has had. A sticker that's been on for a short while usually peels off clean. After months or years, the adhesive grips harder and some residue can stay behind.
To take one off:
- Warm it with a hair dryer on low for 30 to 60 seconds.
- Peel it back slowly at a low angle.
- If anything sticky is left, hold a cloth dampened with rubbing alcohol on it for 30 seconds, then wipe.
On plastic or painted surfaces, test the alcohol on a hidden spot first. Our removal guide has tips for specific surfaces, including glass, plastic and laptops.
